Originally called the Theatre of the State of New York, has been home to the New York City Ballet since its opening in 1964. He also served as home to the Opera in New York from 1964-2011. The theater occupies the south of the main plaza of Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall opposite side. The auditorium features continental style seating on the orchestra level , five balconies and a large spherical chandelier in the center of the ceiling with gold paneled. The lobby areas are good examples of modern art. The New York City Ballet, is today one of the top ballet company in the world . The theater is fully accessible to people with disabilities. The City Opera gift shop, located on the promenade level of the theater , is open before performances and during each interval. Its merchandise includes clothing, posters, gifts , recordings, librettos and more. The boardwalk cafe opens two hours before each performance. Lincoln Center offers indoor parking guarded 24 hours.
